Bicycle demo in Brüssow: Activists fight for green mobility transition!

Brüssow, Deutschland - in Brüssow will be available on Sunday, July 20th. The VCD regional group Uckermark organizes a bicycle demonstration in which everything will revolve around sustainable mobility in the country. The meeting point is on the market square at 2:00 p.m. From there it goes via Menkin to Löcknitz. This route marks a premiere: for the first time there will be a cross -border connection that should raise awareness of safe bike paths. The motto of the event is: "For a social and air conditioning right-wing mobility-now!" that can learn more about the planned measures from 3:00 p.m. at an information stand. The day ends with a inauguration of a new bike station and a sociable end in the Kulturhaus-Kino Brüssow.

The demonstration calls for cross-border cycle paths, safe foot and cycling traffic as well as barrier-free stops. Regular bus traffic is also part of the demands for rural areas. The event is open to everyone; Registration is not necessary and the pace is deliberately family -friendly.

Current trends and developments in cycling

Throughout the Republic, there are efforts to make cycling more attractive and safer. The traffic monitor impressively shows how the cycling network develops in German cities. For example, rapid bike compounds that ensure distances of at least 5 km above safe roads are an essential element of these changes. The total target for Berlin is approx. 100 km, which shows that the creation of a continuous cycling infrastructure is more in demand than ever. Nevertheless, it is feared that the expansion goals will not be reached by 2030, since the annual new buildings have been declining since 2022 .

In this context, research on the bicycle traffic infrastructure is also in the context of the national bicycle traffic plan (NRVP). The initiative includes eight projects that aim to improve the infrastructure for cyclists. The knowledge gained is presented in regular anthologies to accompany and promote future developments. One focus is on the security and comfort for cyclists, no matter what age or what they have .

It remains to be seen which impulses will set the demonstration in Brüssow. However, one thing is clear: the mobility turning point is in full swing, and it is up to us to actively shape these developments. So if you want to make a contribution to more air conditioning, you should swing on the saddle and ride on July 20 in Brüssow!
