The summer festival that Jens Kersten has been organizing for 16 years has attracted numerous visitors again this year in the first week of July. With a colorful cultural program, delicious food and drinking, the participants got their money's worth. The highlight of the festival was the participation of the hit star Marcus Christiansen and the band "Two Brothers". The final laser show also caused astonishing faces. Mayor Hendrik Sommer opened the festival for the last time in his function and was adopted with a photo collage. Kersten was particularly grateful for the support of all helpers, especially the employees on the beer car.

Thanks to Jens Kersten's commitment, the playground in the garden division "Apple Blossom" is now upgraded by funds from the city's citizens' budget. As part of the vote on the Bürger budget 2025/2026, which took place on June 7, the proposal for the new playground received 544 points and is supported with 7,000 euros. Overall, the city council had previously asked the citizens to submit their proposals. Of the 20 ideas submitted, 13 found the way to the vote in which the citizens were available to the projects for each person entitled to vote.

for the Bürger budget 2025/2026 there is a total of 37,320 euros, with a maximum amount of 8,000 euros per project. In addition to the new playground in "Apple Blossom", numerous other suggestions were also submitted, all of which aimed at improving local life. Among other things, a fairground for village life is also considered, as well as various initiatives to promote youth work and to create meeting places for all age groups.
