Celebrating on the water: Music raft in Lychen has been inspiring people for 15 years!

In Lychen, where the Mecklenburg lake district meets the heart of nature, there is a remarkable event that has been attracting people for 15 years: the music raft from the Driftwood company. With over 160 concerts that have taken place since 2010, this event has firmly established itself in the events calendar. Marcus Thom, the owner of Driftwood, welcomes guests personally and, together with various bands and solo artists, ensures unforgettable musical experiences on the water. The concerts last around two and a half hours and offer a wide repertoire from songwriters and instrumentalists to Irish folk and swing. When you look over the water, you can immediately feel the special atmosphere created by the sounds of music and the gentle natural elements.

But how does the whole thing work? On the first, third and fifth Sundays of every month, visitors can enjoy a public raft trip with the sound of alphorns, which lasts two hours and starts at 10 a.m. Registration is not required for this. If you want to enjoy a shorter break from everyday life, you can book one-hour tours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. But the seasonal highlight remains the traditional rafting on the last Sunday in September, this year on September 28th.

Preparations for the coming season are already in full swing. Ticket sales started on May 1, 2025 and are enjoying increasing popularity. A very special highlight will be the concert by the band “Die Zöllner im Trio Infernale” on June 4, 2025, which is part of their 25X25 tour. Other musical treats guests can expect include:
