River pool in Schwedt: Barrier-free access restored after storm damage!
The Schwedt river bathing area again has barrier-free access. Club members temporarily repaired the gate today due to storm damage. This means that wheelchair users, walker users and parents with strollers can now easily reach the river bathing area. For now, the gate will only be opened when necessary, as there are still some minor restrictions. To ensure quick access, the beach supervisor can be contacted at any time to open the gate promptly. The club is optimistic that the damage to the fence and gate will soon be settled by the insurer.
The river bathing area at Schwedter Bollwerk is available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except Tuesdays, and is expected to be open until October. If you want to experience a special musical treat, you should mark August 22nd in red in your calendar: Berlin rapper Kompass MC will perform there from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Another highlight for everyone who loves water and events!
A look at the stars
While we're on the subject of visibility: people have always looked spellbound at the sky and found great meaning in the stars. Did you know that the International Astronomical Union has listed 88 constellations? 48 of these were documented in the 2nd century by the Greek astronomer Claudius Ptolemy. These constellations are often associated with mythology and folklore and represent heroes and animals. Some of the most famous include:
Social media and its challenges
Another topic that concerns many of us is social media. Although the Facebook app is widely used, it has its challenges. Users are reporting an increase in scammers and fake accounts. The reporting systems for racist content and misinformation also urgently need improvements. It is noticeable that many people are skeptical about making online purchases via Facebook, and users often stop relying on the platforms due to the various problems of fraud and dubious ads.
In these times it is all the more important to have a good hand when using social networks and to be selective with the information that is presented to us. Ultimately, we have a responsibility to navigate well in both the digital and real worlds.
Overall, the events in Schwedt as well as the topics of stargazing and social media show how diverse and colorful our everyday lives are. From barrier-free access to exciting concerts, the fascination with the sky to the challenges of modern communication - it remains exciting!
