Rabbit excellence: Schwedt crowns the best breeders of the Uckermark!

On June 25, 2025, almost 100 breed rabbit and their breeders met for the district breeding day in Schwedt. There were 16 breeders from five clubs of the Uckermark, which showed their magnificent animals. The event is all about the exact measurement of the ears, the weighing of the animals and the assessment of physique and fur. The goal? A location determination for the breeders and the constant improvement of the breeders.

The rating of the breed rabbit was responsible for the experienced judge Fabian Pohl, who has been working in this area for five years and even breeds rabbits. The evaluation factors included the body shape, the fur hair and the general state of care of the animals, whereby breed -specific features also have an effect. "Examples of the high quality of the animals shown are a rammer of the Rhön rabbit breed, the excellent ear structure and good drawing," emphasizes Pohl.

The best breeders and their successes

A special focus was also on the breeder Rico Lorengel, who presented the best breeding group with his breeding group of the Rhönkan. "With 27 years of experience and as a reigning German champion, he is a real professional in the scene," said the organizers.
