District Cup quarter-finals: Schwedt and Vierraden celebrate clear victories!
There's a lot going on in district football! While the series of league games was briefly paused, numerous exciting duels took place in the district cup. The teams showed their best side and there were many highlights that thrilled the spectators.
SpG Schwedt/Criewen, leaders of the district league, impressed with an impressive performance in their game against Victoria Templin. Already in the first minute, Markus Heise caused cheering faces on the Schwedt side with an early goal. As it turned out, this was just the beginning of a thrilling encounter that featured attacking football on both sides.
Dominance of Schwedt
After halftime, Schwedt further extended his lead: Jason-Leon cube and Markus Heise increased the score to 3-0. Although Kai Walter was able to score the next goal for Templin to make it 3-1, the team didn't let a red card upset them. Finally, SpG Schwedt/Criewen prevailed 3-1 and deservedly moved into the round of 16.
In the duel between the cup defenders, Husaria Schwedt also achieved a clear success against Zichow. They also quickly found their way into the game with two goals in the first half. In the second period, the unassailable lead grew to 0:3 thanks to Dawid Sac. This clear victory was confidently defended until the end.
Heartbeat finale and goal rush
But Schwedt wasn't the only one who thrilled the audience. SpG Vierraden/Gartz showed how they can score goals in their home game against Rot-Weiß Prenzlau II. They won an impressive 6-1, with Tomasz Miksa being the star of the game with three goals. The other goals were scored by Justin Popinga, Tom Lutze and Danny Zimmermann. A penalty throw-in provided a brief ray of hope for Prenzlau when Sebastian Turowski reduced the score to 3-1.
Another exciting match took place between VfB Gramzow II and SG Milmersdorf. The game was hard fought, but Gramzow proved to be the stronger team and won 3-1. Alexander Stephan, Pierre Skibbe and William Schmock scored the goals, while Michael Grosch scored for Milmersdorf.
