Schmargendorf celebrates: 14th regional market with culinary highlights!
On October 3rd, 2025 it will be that time again: The 14th regional market in the Uckermark will open its doors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the picturesque surroundings of Hemme Milch GmbH & Co. KG in Schmargendorf near Angermünde. Here tradition and innovation meet in a colorful mix of regional specialties and cultural programs. In the middle of the rural backdrop, surrounded by a cowshed and farm garden, visitors can experience what the Uckermark has to offer in terms of culinary and craftsmanship.
With around 50 stalls, the market invites you to discover the variety of regional products. The offerings include not only delicious specialties such as apple cider, freshly baked bread and delicious fruit spreads, but also unusual products such as water buffalo, aurochs and red star reindeer. Fishing is also not neglected: visitors can try eggs, ice cream, vinegar and a variety of spices. The range ranges from vegetables, honey products and dairy products to natural soaps and handcrafted products such as ceramics and handicrafts.
Regional diversity and LEADER funding
Particular attention is paid to the participation of new regional producers supported by EU LEADER funds. LEADER stands for a concept that supports rural development and gives local actors the chance to actively shape their region. This not only creates equal living conditions, but also strengthens personal responsibility and promotes inter-communal projects. mleuv.brandenburg.de emphasizes that this approach enables people in rural areas to mobilize existing potential and develop their surroundings sustainably.
A highlight of the market are the three Hemme Milch farm tours, where 30 guests each can experience the production process of the dairy products up close. The dairy products are presented at various locations, which is exciting not only for those interested in knowledge, but also for pleasure lovers. The stage program also provides entertainment: the Kella Popchor from Templin will lift the mood with live music, while a question-and-answer game offers interesting insights into the world of regional manufacturers. There is also a puppet theater for the little visitors, which is guaranteed to put you in a good mood.
Food and mobility
Of course, your physical well-being is also taken care of. The friendly stalls offer everything from grilled food and vegan snacks to game and ostrich products. Ciders, regional beer, coffee and cakes are also on offer. There is something for every taste here!
If you want to travel by public transport, there is a special shuttle service with the World Heritage bus (line 497), which runs every half hour between Angermünde train station and the event site. The first departures start at 9:40 a.m. and the last return journey at 4:40 p.m.
The Uckermark regional market promises not only culinary discoveries, but also a small celebration of the rural community. A festival where locals and visitors alike get their money’s worth. More information can be found at nordkurier.de. A visit is definitely worth it!
