Swing and jazz am See: Brüssow conjures up the 20s!

in Brüssow, a small but fine place in the Uckermark, the hearts beat higher when the event "Brüssow swings and jazz" on July 5th brought the open -air stage to life. On this day, the stage turns into an exciting time window back into the 1920s, where Swing, Jazz and Charleston will meet the air. Regina Hentschel, the widow of the popular trumpeter Hans-Georg Hentschel, is behind the creative revival of this unique event. Admission to the event is free, but donations are welcome to support the cultural activities in the region. Nordkurier reports that the admission begins at 3 p.m.

Hans-Georg Hentschel was not only an outstanding trumpeter, but also orchestra manager of the Big Band of the Berlin city cleaning, which was launched in 1929 and shaped the music scene until its dissolution in 1998. Hentschel, who continued his passions in the "Jazz Collegium Berlin", died in 2020. His widow and her son, Andreas Hentschel, have set himself the task of keeping his inheritance alive. The band returns to Brüssow under the band leader Peter Zastrow to make their nostalgic sounds sound. This concert not only promises musical enjoyment, but also combines personal stories and memories.

a musical experience

The event offers a colorful mix of music styles, including Charleston, Foxtrot and classic dance music. The audience is invited to experience the atmosphere of the golden twenties up close. This is already the second implementation of the event in Brüssow, and it turns out that the people of the region appreciate this cultural treasure very much.

A look at the previous appearances reveals that the music about swing and jazz in Brüssow is not the only highlight. Spirit of the Twenties not only has this concert in their luggage, but also many further appearances. Among other things, concerts already took place in Dresden and Berlin in May, and the group constantly darkened from one event to the next to share their melodies. A true festival of the timbres awaits the music lovers not only in Brüssow, but in many places.
