Templin celebrates the City Wall Festival: tradition, fun and 2000 guests!

On the weekend of June 23, 2025, the city of Templin became the setting for a spectacular festival: The third City Wall Festival shone in all its splendor and attracted over 2,000 guests who enjoyed a colorful program. The event organized by the Tourism Marketing Templin GmbH was excellently organized and not only conveyed a feeling of togetherness, but also offered a variety of cultural experiences.

Mayor Christian Hartphiel (SPD) was enthusiastic about the atmosphere and the numerous opportunities the festival offered. Particularly noteworthy was the parade of the Templin Riflemen's Guild, which marched through the streets at 12 p.m. on the occasion of its 30th flag consecration with 220 participants and musical accompaniment from fanfares and shooting clubs. Heiko Strempel, chairman of the shooting guild, emphasized the importance of traditions and shooting sports that shape city life.

Diverse program and new highlights

A highlight of the event was the impressive presentation by the soldiers of the sponsoring unit, who presented their service and operational clothing on a catwalk. The City Wall Run also took place, in which 24 teams took part to focus on fun and teamwork.

Ernst-Thälmann-Straße was transformed into a family area with around 40 free offers for all age groups. Young people were also actively involved: 170 children and young people enriched the program on the youth stage. Six surprise guests, moderated by Moritz Anné, thrilled the audience on an open stage at the Multicultural Center.

Sustainability and local support

One of the exciting program items was the “Duck Race” in the NaturTherme, which celebrated hundreds of rubber ducks in an exciting race in the lazy river. During the event, 665 rubber ducks were sold, the proceeds of which amounted to 3,325 euros were donated to the Templin canoeing club and the Templin elementary school support association. The opportunity for local clubs to fill their coffers through such campaigns strengthens the community and promotes social networking.

Overall, events like the City Wall Festival not only show the unique traditions of the region, but also contribute to Templin's economic revitalization. Studies prove that city festivals are important platforms for cultural exchange, economic development and the promotion of local art and talent.

The last festival highlight was the evening event at the city harbor, where the party show band “Das Fiasko” and DJs created a happy atmosphere. And not to forget: Templiner Günter Rehmer celebrated his 82nd birthday on this special day, which made the festival a real community experience.

The preparations for the next City Wall Festival already seem to be in full swing, and the people of Templin agree: these festivals are an indispensable part of social and cultural life in the city.
