National volleyball team as guests: Brandenburg is planning an exciting exchange!
The anticipation for the international volleyball exchange in Brandenburg an der Havel is increasing! We can look forward to an exciting event in December 2025 when the Germany U18 national volleyball team welcomes the selection from France. But that's not all: a selection from Montenegro and another nation will also take part in this special exchange. The encounter is organized by the VC Blau-Weiß Brandenburg Volleyball Academy, which will take care of an exciting program during the event. But what can we expect there?
A colorful program for young talents
The exchange not only offers exciting volleyball matches, but also numerous activities to support the participants. This includes panel discussions with national coaches, a coaches get-together as well as creative evenings and city rallies. Players will have the opportunity to train together and receive valuable feedback. The aim is to promote sporting skills, intercultural understanding and friendships. Mayor Steffen Scheller recently handed over the funding commitment to the club's chairman Sebastian Pfeiffer. The Youth, Culture, Sports and Social Foundation supports the project and covers around 15 percent of the costs.
This initiative is not only a step in the right direction for the sport of volleyball, but also an example of the strong commitment of VC Blau-Weiß Brandenburg. Since it was founded in 2014, the club has increased its membership from 32 to over 355 and offers a wide range of training options. The focus is not only on competitive sports, but also on training young talents and supporting ambitious recreational athletes.
Sporting success and social benefits
But VC Blau-Weiß Brandenburg not only has big plans for the future, but can also look back on many successes in the youth sector. The teams achieved numerous state cup victories and were able to achieve impressive places at state championships, including several title wins and even the German runner-up title in the U16m.
The association's commitment is supported by the voluntary work of members and parents, while partners and sponsors play an important role in its success. This mix of commitment and sporting performance is in line with the views of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), which emphasizes the benefits of sport on both an individual and societal level. Sport not only functions as a means of physical exercise, but also to promote education, health and social integration.
With so much positive energy surrounding volleyball in Brandenburg, we can be excited to see how the international exchange will develop and what friendships will emerge. Anyone who is interested in supporting the association's work cannot miss the next application deadline for funding from the JKS Foundation, which ends on September 15, 2025. Because it looks like there's something going on in Brandenburg's volleyball scene!
