Germany triumphs 4-1 over the Czech Republic – U21 on course for the title!
On June 15, 2025, the German U21 footballers achieved a clear win against the Czech Republic in the second group game of the U21 European Championship. At halftime it was already 2-0 for Germany, who dominated the game with 73% possession. The Czech Republic, on the other hand, tried to achieve success with counterattacks and had a promising opportunity with a shot from the post by Gruda in stoppage time in the first half. However, the German team, led by coach Antonio Di Salvo, showed themselves to be qualitatively superior and gave the spectators a passionate football game.
For Germany, Nicolo Tresoldi opened the scoring in the 35th minute after Collins passed him a perfect pass. Just nine minutes later, Paul Nebel increased the score to 2-0. The Czech Republic had to make a few changes after the first half to turn the game around: Halinsky and Kozeluh came on for Chaloupek and Hadas. Despite the efforts of the Czech team, Germany was clearly the stronger team.
Two more goals and an own goal
In the second half, Germany stuck with it and made it 3-0 in the 54th minute through Nick Woltemade, followed by another goal from Eric Martel in the 58th minute. It seemed as if the Czech Republic was unable to stop the German offensive. An initially promising attack ended in an own goal from Bright Arrey-Mbi, which increased the score to 1:4. Germany is showing an impressive performance and is staying on course in the European Championship.
The Czech Republic, which lost 3-1 in its opening game against England, is under pressure. It will now be difficult for the Czech team to progress from Group B as they absolutely need to win in order not to be eliminated from the tournament. This U21 European Championship, which started on June 11th in Slovakia and runs until the final on June 28th in Bratislava, is an important event for the 16 participating nations.
The path to championship
Germany, which faces the Czech Republic as well as England and Slovenia in Group B, is aiming for its fourth European Championship title. In the past, the German U21 team has already secured the title three times. The start was promising: a clear 3-0 win against Slovenia. Now success over the Czech Republic followed, which further strengthened confidence in the team.
The U21 European Championship games are not only a highlight for the players, but also a celebration for the fans. Tickets for the matches are available from 15 euros on the UEFA homepage, and the broadcasts on free TV on SAT.1 and ProSieben MAXX as well as in the live stream on ran.de ensure that the games are accessible to many viewers. The fans in Slovakia have a good hand - and the team also seems to be on the right track!
So it remains to be seen what happens next for Germany as they move towards top spot in the group. The next challenges are already waiting and the spectators are excited to see how the young players will develop. Germany's goal is to live up to decades of football tradition and bring home this title again.
