Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg, Deutschland - On May 28, 2025, the Archdiocese of Hamburg announced that it will give up the sponsorship of the Groß-Sand Hospital in Wilhelmsburg. After years of financial losses, the closure of the surgery and the emergency outpatient clinic is already expected in mid -July of this year. A first restructuring of the clinic will take place in the coming year if the departments for geriatrics and neurological early rehabilitation are moved to the nearby Marienkrankenhaus.
