Focus on women's power: New podcast with Minister Bernhardt and Alabali

In today's episode of the “Macherinnen” podcast, Minister Jacqueline Bernhardt chats with Federal Development Minister Reem Alabali Radovan. As regierung-mv.de reports, Alabali Radovan is strongly committed to the rights of women worldwide and fights against racism, xenophobia and violence against women and children. “Women in politics often face greater challenges than men,” says Jacqueline Bernhardt, showing how important it is to strengthen the voices of women in leadership positions.

The podcast “Macherinnen” has published 20 episodes since its launch and introduces women from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania who are committed to our society in various areas. New episodes always appear on the eighth of the month and are available on common podcast portals and on the website www.frauen-in-mv.de/podcast. This format creates a platform that allows women to share their stories and experiences.

“Woman of the Year 2026” award

In the conversation, Jacqueline Bernhardt also refers to the search for the “Woman of the Year 2026”. Interested parties can submit their proposals until October 30, 2025. The special award will be presented in March 2026 during a celebration of International Women's Day by Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig and Jacqueline Bernhardt. A worthy occasion to make the achievements of women visible!

Feminist issues in legal policy

Another interesting podcast that you should definitely listen to is “Justitia’s Daughters – The Podcast on Feminist Legal Policy”. This production by the German Association of Women Lawyers, moderated by Selma Gather and Prof. Dr. Dana-Sophia Valentiner, deals with feminist aspects in law and highlights current developments in gender equality. This podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Soundcloud and is aimed at anyone interested in feminist and legal policy issues, regardless of legal background. Feminist development policy globally

Standing up for women's rights doesn't stop at national issues. German development policy, as presented on bmz.de, relies on a feminist strategy that puts women and girls at the center. This group is among the most disadvantaged and is often subject to violence and discrimination. True equality has not yet been achieved globally, although it is a fundamental human right. The new strategy of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is based on a comprehensive consultation process and is committed to fair societies.

At a time when discrimination affects more than just gender and age, it is essential that women are recognized and promoted as knowledge holders and decision makers. The BMZ strategy advocates for justice and aims to exploit the full potential of all people. A project that offers a holistic approach to combating oppression and plans an exchange with international partners.

Overall, it is clear that it is high time to strengthen the voice of women in politics and society. Whether local or global, women make an indispensable contribution and deserve the necessary recognition and support!
