Airbeat One 2025: Over 200,000 celebrate Viva España” in Neustadt!
The 22nd Airbeat One Festival, which took place from July 9th to 13th, 2025 in Neustadt-Glewe, was a complete success. Over 200,000 music enthusiasts from more than 50 nations followed the motto “Viva España” and made the event an unforgettable experience. The festival days offered an impressive program with over 250 international DJs who presented more than 225 hours of electronic music on six stages. There was something for everyone in the genres - from techno to trance to hardstyle. Top acts such as Armin van Buuren, Steve Aoki and Timmy Trumpet created an electrifying atmosphere, with Armin van Buuren delivering a particularly energetic set on Saturday evening. The main stage, inspired by Spanish buildings such as the Las Ventas bullring, offered impressive dimensions at 180 meters wide and 45 meters high, accompanied by imaginative lighting and pyrotechnics. The cultural supporting program also included impressive flamenco dances. Schwerin local reports that the Prime Minister of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Manuela Schwesig, visited the festival and praised the organization and the peaceful coexistence.
But what was the security situation at the festival? The police reported that everything went largely smoothly and registered a total of 134 criminal complaints, including 11 for violations of the Narcotics Act. In addition, 31 drivers were taken off the road while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Around 170 police officers were on duty every day, supported by additional units. A mobile police station on the festival grounds proved to be excellent in this regard. Despite a slight backlog on the day of arrival, traffic on the motorways around Neustadt-Glewe was largely unproblematic. NDR highlights that many festival-goers bought food in the community to avoid high prices on the site. This not only strengthened the local economy, but also ensured good cooperation with local businesses.
The festival visitors
A look at the festival visitors shows that the music event is also of great cultural importance. According to Statista, almost every second adult in Germany attends a concert or festival at least once a month. Around a third of visitors are single people, while around 20 percent of concertgoers come from large cities. Popular music genres include rock, pop and hip-hop, and many visitors use music streaming providers such as Spotify or Deezer. This shows that the festival society is internet-savvy and interested in culture. Statista also highlights that the target group has a strong environmental awareness and pays more attention to quality than price in consumer areas.
For next year, fans can look forward to the 23rd Airbeat One Festival, which will take place under the motto “The Netherlands”. It remains exciting to see what international stars and inspiring experiences this festival will offer!
