A 20-year-old from Winsen/Luhe, Lower Saxony, was stopped at a routine check when he tried to get to the festival site as a daily guest. As NDR reports, the security forces found around 300 grams of synthetic drugs, divided into 91 bags, as well as eleven capsules cocaine and a fine scale.

In an online shop, his company offers chemically modified derivatives of drugs such as LSD or DMT, which are currently not prohibited, but can have potentially serious side effects.

The state coordination office for addiction topics (Lakost) also commented on the "research chemicals" that can be sold. Birgit Grämke von der Lakost said that it is possible to offer these substances through existing gaps in the laws. As the Federal Ministry of Health confirmed, tryptamins have been covered by the law since the end of June 2023, but the identification and evaluation of new modifications can extend over longer periods.

Grämken warned of underestimated side effects that can range from rapid heartbeat to circulatory problems to anxiety.
