17,000 euros for creative democracy projects in the Lake District!
Something is happening in the lake district! Around 17,000 euros in funding are available for creative projects that are intended to give democracy a boost. Or so reported NDR. These funds come from the federal government and are awarded by the Mecklenburg Lake District in order to invite citizens to actively participate in shaping a vibrant, democratic culture.
The initiators are looking for ideas that bring people together. Whether it's about singing together during Advent in Friedland or other meeting formats, there are no limits to creativity. Marie Röder from Caritas is the project coordinator and emphasizes: “We want to promote projects that strengthen democracy, tolerance and respectful exchange.” Applications can be submitted until mid-November. Schools, non-profit associations and other organizations are warmly invited to contribute their ideas.
Diversity is required
What exactly are you looking for? The Alliance for Democracy relies on a refreshing variety of proposals. Upcoming festivals, such as the “Futurological Congress” at the end of October in Passentin or film evenings with subsequent discussions, are just a few examples from the creative treasure trove of ideas that have already been received. Formats that appeal to people regardless of their origin, age or social background are particularly exciting. Strelitzius reports that the aim is to particularly target those who may have lost access to social events.
These projects are funded as part of the federal program “Living Democracy!”, which also focuses on larger social contexts beyond local initiatives. Describes how important commitment and social participation are financial-foerdermittel.de: There are numerous programs here that support projects that strengthen democratic structures and address social challenges.
A simple way to apply
The application process is more transparent than ever. Anyone interested can contact Marie Röder from the Partnership for Democracy Coordination and Specialist Office directly for further information. The deadlines have been set and the necessary support is also provided so that everyone involved does not miss out on access to these valuable funding.
The alliance's second meeting took place just a few days ago and the mood is optimistic. Funding is still available for the current year. The ideas are bubbling and the partnership would like to open itself further to interested citizens who are willing to actively contribute to shaping a democratic culture.
So a call to all creative people: Draw your projects, bring a breath of fresh air into the democracy of the Lake District and get involved! There is something going on in our community - and that is the opportunity to make a difference.
