A tragic event occurred today in Waren (Müritz) in the Mecklenburg Lake District. During a practical driving lesson, a student driver had an accident with her moped when she was driving behind a car that was on the way onto a one-way street and wanted to turn right. As n-tv reports, there was a collision in which the student driver fell and injured herself. There was great horror when driving instructors and two passers-by immediately rushed to help and looked after the injured person. She was immediately taken to a clinic, while the driving school's moped was totaled.

Unfortunately, such accidents are not the exception. Just a few days earlier, on October 24, 2025, another serious incident occurred near Jarmen. A 15-year-old moped driver was hit by a truck and died at the scene of the accident. The 45-year-old truck driver, who wanted to cross the street without noticing the oncoming moped driver, is identified by the police as the person who caused the accident. He continued his journey without caring about the injured child, which prompted investigators to file a case for negligent homicide. The NDR reports that the two truck drivers who discovered the incident immediately alerted the emergency services, but any help came too late for the boy.
