Neubrandenburg celebrates the first Fête de la Musique: A music festival of cultures!
On June 21, 2025, Neubrandenburg will be part of the globally celebrated Fête de la Musique for the first time. This festival, which has its roots in Paris in 1982, has now established itself in over 1,000 cities worldwide and is considered the largest music festival in the world. There are also more than 160 locations in Germany, and Neubrandenburg is one of these top-class celebrations. A special highlight is that this year the festival is taking place on the occasion of the 777th city anniversary of Neubrandenburg.
The celebrations begin at 4 p.m. and last until 10 p.m. through the city center, which is transformed into a large stage. 32 acts are expected on five stages in Neubrandenburg, covering a wide range of music genres: from classical to rap to performances by male choirs. Over 50 artists from the region, including bands, solo musicians and DJs, bring the city to music and dance. There are also great performances on offer, so there is something for every musical taste.
Variety of performances
It's not just Neubrandenburg that has its say with a diverse program. Neustrelitz will also shake on the same day when the music sounds from Schloßstrasse via the Schlossberg and Schlossgarten to the harbor. Here, choirs, soloists and dancers provide a varied offering, also from 4 p.m. The two cities promise an unforgettable experience for all age groups and also invite visitors to feast - numerous providers are ready to fulfill the guests' culinary wishes.
The Fête de la Musique has developed into an international phenomenon in recent years. Every year on June 21st, the whole world unites in music, and cities around the world celebrate with a variety of performances, from small street concerts to large stage performances. The event in Germany is organized by the network of organizers, with coordination and licensing by the MusikZentrum Hannover gGmbH.
That wasn't all, because the closing ceremony of the Neubrandenburg Fête takes place in the Open Mill, which offers enough space for social gatherings after the music has faded away. A really successful day for music lovers and those who want to become music lovers - a day that should not only reach the hearts, but also the legs of all dance enthusiasts!
