Woldegk: B104 between Woldegk and Mildenitz closed from Wednesday!

The federal highway 104 between Woldegk and Mildenitz will be closed for extensive construction work starting tomorrow, November 13, 2025. The reason for this is the dilapidated roadway, which urgently needs to be replaced. These measures, which are coordinated by the Neustrelitz Road Construction Authority, are part of a larger renovation project that has already begun with the completion of the country road between Woldegk and Oertzenhof.

The road surface will be replaced over a section of more than two kilometers. According to information from NDR Construction is expected to take place until November 28, 2025, although weather-related delays cannot be ruled out. Passers-by can expect a detour of around 50 kilometers that leads via Strasburg and Friedland.

Traffic impacts and diversions

The federal highway 104 is an important traffic artery in Western Pomerania and the Lake District, especially for traffic to and from the Polish border area. An approximately 2.4 kilometer long section between Woldegk and Mildenitz now needs to be renewed due to numerous bumps and cracks that indicate the end of the useful life of this road, such as this Northern Courier reported.

In order to ensure that the work can be carried out safely, traffic routing on one side is not possible due to the narrow width of the road. The entire area will therefore be completely closed during the construction period. The residents in the construction site have already been informed by post and are receiving individual solutions for the accessibility of their properties.

Construction contract and financial aspects

Kemna Bau Andreae GmbH from the Schwerin branch has received the contract for the construction work. The federal government is investing around 600,000 euros in this important maintenance process to secure the infrastructure. Local public transport will also be affected by the closures; The transport companies will provide further information on this in due course.

In summary, it should be noted that the renewal of federal highway 104 is a necessary measure to ensure long-term traffic safety and infrastructure in the Western Pomerania area. Road users should prepare for the changes in good time and use the signposted detours.
