Construction site chaos between Wismar and Lübeck: traffic remains stalled!

The traffic situation in northwest Mecklenburg remains tense even in mid-November. Current construction sites are hindering traffic on various state and federal roads, which has particularly affected commuters and travelers.

At the moment, the replacement of protective barriers on the state road 02 between Klein Neuleben and Raddingsdorf ensures that no passage is possible until November 28th. A diversion has been set up that directs road users from the A-20 Lüdersdorf exit towards Carlow via Lüdersdorf, Kreisstraße 2, Landesstraße 01 and the Raddingsdorf intersection. There will also be no relief until December on the state road 01 between Gramkow and Proseken: The second construction phase is already underway here, which includes the replacement of manhole covers and the renewal of the road markings.

Traffic disruptions and diversions

The road width of 6.50 meters does not allow traffic to be routed on one side, which is why a diversion via the B 105 to Grevesmühlen and the L 02 to Hohenkirchen is necessary. In addition, the construction work between Klütz and Damshagen on state road 03 is almost completed and the full closure has now been lifted. However, shoulder and pavement marking work is still required and should be completed by mid-November.

Another critical point is the complete closure of federal highway 208 in Gadebusch, which will also last until mid-November. Here the section from the Steinstrasse intersection to the exit from the town will be renewed. Here too, road users have to avoid Rehna and Grevesmühlen. In Dorf Mecklenburg, the area between Am Burgwall/Am Wehberg and Lübower Straße/Kreisstraße 37 will remain closed for construction work until December.

Real-time information and traffic forecasts

Drivers can use the ADAC website to better plan their trips. This not only offers real-time information about traffic flow, but also warnings of short-term disruptions and dangerous situations such as slippery snow or aquaplaning. Route planning provides an overview of current and planned construction sites, which are crucial for a quick arrival. This means everyone can choose the best route and avoid traffic jams, which is particularly helpful during construction. ADAC Maps shows the ideal information platform for those affected.

The construction work in the region has clear benefits for traffic safety and infrastructure. Even if the diversions and closures are inconvenient, they benefit the quality of the roads and the safety of all road users. However, a little patience is required until the construction sites are completely completed.

For everyone returning home after a long trip or traveling to the region, we can only hope that the work is progressing quickly and that fewer obstacles will soon be encountered. After all, the goal remains to permanently improve road conditions for both personal and commercial traffic.
