Dramatic rescue operation after a serious accident in Northwest Mecklenburg

A serious traffic accident shaked the district of Northwest Mecklenburg on Monday, July 14, 2025. A 23-year-old driver came off the road between Klein Welzin and Lützow for unexplained reasons. Her vehicle flew through the air several meters and landed on the side in a difficult to see. Fortunately, after the crash, the woman was aware and was able to inform the rescue control center independently, such as the Nordkurier reported.

The fire brigade from Lützow and Gadebusch as well as first responder and an emergency doctor were quickly on site. The police estimated property damage of around 11,000 euros, while the road remains closed for around three hours.

Around 100 emergency services, including the police and fire brigade, were deployed. As the Merkur reported, a 32-year-old driver with his two small children got on the opposite line for unexplained reasons. This led to a frontal collision with another vehicle, the occupants of which were also seriously injured.

In order to clarify the course of the accident, the Kempten traffic police take over the investigation and the public prosecutor calls for experts. The estimated total damage amounts to around 40,000 euros, while the road has been temporarily closed and a detour was set up.
