Next Saturday, November 1st, a very special event will take place in picturesque Törber HolzAutumn festivalinstead of. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. everyone is invited to enjoy this event hosted by the Vitense and surrounding village support association and the Börzow cultural association is organized. The joint celebration is not only intended to entertain, but also to bring the community closer together.
What can visitors expect? At a cozypicnicParticipants can bring their own food and drinks. A special highlight of the festival will be the construction ofFeeding stations for wild animalsfrom 3 p.m. In addition, planting is oneWinter linden treeplanned, which is intended to symbolize the cohesion of the towns of Törber, Vitense and Börzow. These communities were separated by the A20, a circumstance that the planting campaign aims to address in a creative way. Winfried Schulze, 71 years old, is the initiator of this planting campaign.
Törber oak and its history
An indispensable part of the festival will be the traditional oneRun of lightsthrough the Törber Holz, which starts at 4:30 p.m. The event is dominated by the two impressive oak trees at the venue: TheTörber Oak II, which is between 350 and 400 years old, was cleared five years ago and is now easily accessible. This oak is the successor to the legendary Tör ranges, which fell in a storm in 1960. The gigantic roots of the gate areas once had a circumference of 11 meters and can still be admired today, as can the lying trunk of this formerly large tree.
The Törber oak is known for its strongly bumpy trunk and the funnel-shaped crown, which is set high. She is currently in overall good condition, which demonstrates her vitality. These historic trees that belong to the Börzow Cultural Association are a valuable part of the regional nature and contribute to the identity of the community.
