Punk rock premiere after 14 years: Festival inspires in Wakenstädt!
In a colorful atmosphere of great celebration took place onAugust 11, 2025the20th Summer Battleof the Association for Culture and Tolerance (KuT) in Wakenstädt. Hundreds of fans and festival visitors celebrated exuberantly at the Wakenstadt shooting range, while the weather offered optimal conditions for the event. With a line-up of a total of 17 bands, the festival brought the pulsating energy of punk rock back to the stage, not least through the performance of the band “Vollrausch gut” from Schwerin, which had reunited after a 14-year break.
The stages were diverse, and “Vollrausch gut” was particularly impressive100 fanson one of the two side stages. The audience was particularly impressed by the song “Collect Money”. The band members, who are from2009 to 2011who played together and then separated, found each other again in March 2023 via a voice message. Johannes Grunenberg, 36 years old, who is also active in the band “Alles Karo”, reports on the rehearsals in Berlin, which were characterized by a spirit of optimism.
Revival and future
Singer Hannes Weibert has ambitious plans: “We want to write new songs and perform again next year.” Returning to the stage is significant not only for the band members, but also for the local music scene, which seems to be resurgent after the pandemic. Another highlight of the festival was the international band “Los (K) SOS” from France, which thrilled the audience with their performance.
