Record attempt in Wismar: 84 dancers at the start for a good cause!

On November 8, 2025, a fascinating world record attempt in bachata dancing was started at the Wollgast dance school in Wismar, and the results are remarkable. A total of 84 participants took part in this lovingly organized event to set the record for the largest number of simultaneous dance couples dancing a special choreography. The goal was for at least 25 dance couples per dance school to dance through the entire song at the same time. All proceeds from the participation fees go to a children's dementia foundation, which makes the initiative even more valuable.

The world record attempt took place in conjunction with a broad collaboration between dance schools throughout Germany. Participants had to learn the choreographed dance routine provided by the participating dance institutions. For this purpose, registration was required no later than October 15, 2025, and tailored resources were available to schools, including music materials and promotional materials about the project. The decision on the success of the record attempt will be made in about 14 days after all videos, photos and participant numbers have been checked.

A pleasant community event

The initiative, which has inspired thousands of people to dance, is not only an attempt to set a record, but also a wonderful opportunity to experience community and raise awareness of important issues such as childhood dementia. The Chamber of the Wollgast Dance School has made it its mission to promote such events and to create an inclusive and inspiring atmosphere.

For the dancers, big and small, it was a great opportunity not only to get some exercise, but also to actively contribute to supporting children with dementia. And while the attempt was taking place, passionate dancers were able to enjoy the special world record version of the song, produced especially for the occasion.

The combination of dance and social engagement has proven to be a successful approach. In addition, the World Dance Day, which was coordinated with this event, shows the power of dance to bring people together and draw attention to important social issues. According to the information on World Dance Day, dancing takes place every year around the world on this occasion, with various dance styles being performed in all imaginable institutions and social facilities.

The future of these initiatives looks bright as more schools and community groups come together to dance together and create positive change. As today's event shows, the key is shared commitment and enjoyment of dance, and we look forward to hearing the results in the coming weeks.
