Wismar illuminates: The November lights bring shine and magic!

The anticipation for the Wismar “November Lights” is great, because from November 7th to 8th the Hanseatic city will be colorful and glamorous again! For the 19th time, the historic old town shines in a new light, and this year's motto “Wismar and the Hanseatic League” promises particularly impressive light installations and events. This magical light show opens at 7pm as night envelopes the city.

The popular “City of Lights Tour” starts at the top of the Old Harbor, near the tree house. From there the route leads through the festively illuminated Claus-Jesup-Straße to the St.-Marien-Forum. Culinary delicacies await visitors here while they can enjoy the fascinating light installations.

A variety of attractions and laser shows

One of the highlights are the laser shows in St. George's Church, which take place on both days at 7:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. A musical supporting program ensures a good atmosphere between the laser shows. Social interaction is not neglected, especially for the little visitors. On Saturday, November 8th, children can make lanterns in the armory (Ulmenstraße 15) between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. before the lantern parade starts at 5 p.m. through Claus-Jesup-Straße to St. Marien Church.

If you arrive by car, you can park stress-free: There are free parking options at Weidendamm as well as in the parking garage at the harbor and other places in the old town center. In the low season, parking fees range from 1 euro for the day ticket on the waterway to 2 euros for the night rate in the parking garage. All events at the November Lights are free of charge, with the exception of the culinary offerings, which are billed accordingly.

Experience culture and community

The “November Lights” are not only a feast for the eyes, but also a highlight for the community. In recent years, the event has established itself as a way to bring people of all ages together. The focus on culture, art and communal experience is clear in the diverse offerings and attractions. Whether it's the city tour or the various shows - there's something for everyone here.

Compared to previous editions, such as the 18th edition in 2024, the fascination of the event remains unbroken. At that time, the focus was on multimedia shows and diverse tours, and the atmosphere was characterized by a lively togetherness ([eamv.de](https://eamv.de/infos/novemberlichter-2024-wismar-erstrahlt-im- Glanz-des-lichts)) and a warm community.

The team from Ostsee-Zeitung will closely monitor what is happening and everyone keep interested readers up to date. So be there when Wismar is bathed in radiant light - an experience that you shouldn't miss!
