Comedy Rostock: New open mic and talent search for pure laughter!
Something is happening in the comedy scene in Rostock! Matti Walz, a Rostock comedian with roots in Dresden, launched “Comedy Rostock” over a year ago, a platform to promote local talent. This initiative came about due to the fact that Rostock did not have an open stage for stand-up comedy, which posed major challenges for many aspiring artists. Since then, Comedy Rostock has offered two formats: the popular Open Mic and the diverse Comedy Mix Show.
The Open Mic events take place once a month on Tuesdays in the Warmbad and offer beginners the opportunity to show themselves in a protected setting. With 7 minutes of stage time, new talents can present their skills and gain experience. In addition, Matti plans to expand the open mic to twice a month to provide a stage for even more aspiring comedians.
Ratskeller Comedy on September 23rd
The next highlight is just around the corner: On Tuesday, September 23rd, there will be a mix show in the Ratskeller, moderated by Matti Walz. The event date is a real treat for comedy fans, as five talented comedians from Germany will perform their best numbers. Included are:

- Yonathan Litzius (Hamburg)
- Darina Marie (Berlin)
- Dario de la Rosa (Leipzig)
- Anton Winkler (Magdeburg)
The show starts at 7:00 p.m., entry is an hour earlier, at 6:00 p.m. Ticket prices are fair: early birders pay €10, while reduced tickets are available for €13. Full-paying guests pay €18, and tickets can be purchased at the box office, if available, for €22. The cards are available both online Events.com as well as available in limited numbers at the box office. There is also support for people with financial difficulties.
Matti Walz is not only the presenter of the shows, but also an active participant with a 20-minute solo program. In this program he humorously addresses personal shortcomings and the Rostock mentality. His vision is to start out as a full-time comedian and to continue to grow the Rostock comedy community.
