The A-youth team of HC Empor Rostock experienced an exciting handball game when they played against THW Kiel on Saturday. Despite a committed performance and an early lead of 24:20 after 41 minutes, the Empor ultimately had to admit defeat 36:37. This reports nordkurier.de.

Empor showed a strong performance in the first half. With a solid defense combined with successful attacks, the team was ahead 20:18 at halftime. Despite the defeat, coach Tristan Staat was optimistic and emphasized that his team had taken an important step in the right direction. “There is something going on,” he stated and praised the strong initial phase in which Empor temporarily took a 6-3 lead.

The course of the game

Rostock were able to briefly extend their lead to 24:20 in the second half. But then the concentration seemed to weaken. Kiel equalized strongly to 24:24 and finally took control, then led 30:27 in the 48th minute.
