Hollerbach no longer for coaching jobs in Liège in the race!

Football never sleeps and that has been clearly felt in the past few days. A highlight is currently striking Bernd Hollerbach, who was recently released as a coach of Hansa Rostock. As the Ostsee newspaper reports, it is no longer in the race for the coaching position at Standard Liège. The reason for this is differences with sports director Marc Wilmots, the Hollerbach's wish to sign his entire team of coaches, did not consider it implementable. Ostsee-Zeitung

Hollerbach, who is now 55 years old, took over the Rostocker after relegation to the second division in the summer of 2024. But after a modest start of the season with only 10 points from 11 games, he ended at the end of October. Interestingly, he is still on the Koggenkicker salary list. The future of the former trainer seems uncertain, especially since his colleague Karel Geraerts, who was most recently active at Schalke, also left the race for the coaching post in Liège. Geraerts worked with Wilmots by September 2024 and is now also looking for a new challenge. SPIEGEL

a new wind for Liège?

In search of a new coach for Standard Liège, Jonas de Roeck, 45 years old, is very popular. He managed the league competitor Royal Antwerp until the beginning of March and could be the key to fresh wind in Liège. This coaching carousel during the summer break shows once again that patience in football rarely lasts for a long time.

Change of coaches are not uncommon in the Bundesliga. In the past 60 years, since the 1963/1964 season, there have been countless changes that have often been accompanied by unrest and dissatisfied fans. The statistics of Statista show that change of coaches are a familiar constant in the Bundesliga history and this season will certainly not be an exception. Statista

The question that remains is where the trip leads for the trainers concerned and who will be on the list of changes - football remains exciting!
