The promotion from the district league C to the district league is a remarkable achievement. The club has already reached the round of 16 in the Berlin State Cup and is only two points behind the leaders BSV GW Neukölln after six match days. “We have big plans,” says Pannewitz, mentioning planned investments of around 20 million euros for further professionalization. An important project is the purchase of the sports grounds on Wildspitzweg in Mariendorf, where home games will be played in the future.

From roots to trainer

Kevin Pannewitz began his footballing journey in the youth department of several Berlin clubs, including Normannia, Frohnau and Nordberliner SC. But his career also brought difficult times: After a move to VfL Wolfsburg, which was accompanied by many problems, Pannewitz returned to the lower leagues and led his career through various clubs in Germany, including Carl Zeiss Jena and Goslarer SC.

He describes his coaching career at Delay Sports as fulfilling. He sees himself not only as a trainer, but also as a psychologist who understands his players and helps them to develop. “Training today is completely different than it was ten years ago,” reflects Pannewitz. “Roughness is no longer of any use, it is important to motivate the players and give them trust.” He will certainly need this approach to make Delay Sports a success.
