Neubrandenburger Straße: Full closure ends Friday - security increased!

In Rostock-Brinckmansdorf, Neubrandenburger Straße, which was previously completely closed for construction work, will be reopened on Friday, November 7, 2025, at around 4 p.m. This reports that Rostock town hall. The road will be accessible in both directions after the extensive construction work, which spanned a length of approximately 220 meters, is completed on schedule.

The renovation work on Neubrandenburger Straße was carried out by the construction company Georg Koch GmbH to ensure traffic safety, especially due to the proximity to the railway crossing. From Saturday, November 8, 2025, the Rebus bus company will also resume operations and the replacement stop on Fritz-Mackensen-Weg will no longer be available. But be careful: South of the Kassenbohm-Kiesgrube confluence area there could still be partial restrictions during the day due to rework.

Construction work and diversion

The complete closure of Neubrandenburger Straße began on August 22nd and also affects the lane leading out of town. It will be rerouted within the town via the Kassebohm residential area, although a wide bypass via the A19 and Tessiner Straße was recommended. In the event of an emergency, a lane remains open for emergency and rescue vehicles so that they can get through in an emergency.

The construction work on the popular artery, which began in February, includes not only the renewal of the road surface, which is being converted from natural stone to asphalt, but also the creation of new, safe connections between cycle paths and the installation of new bus stops on both sides of the road. In this way, the traffic situation and safety should be improved for all users.

The completion of the project is eagerly awaited by many residents and commuters in the region, not least because this extensive renovation will bring long-term improvements to the transport infrastructure. Then you can drive along Neubrandenburger Straße again in a relaxed manner and count on smooth public transport.

While the construction work has not yet been completely completed, those responsible and the construction company are ready to put the finishing touches to the second construction phase before the planned end in November. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic is currently being redirected via Kassebohmer Weg and the sidewalk that runs parallel to the railway system. Neubrandenburger Straße will therefore be made safer not only for cars, but also for cyclists and pedestrians.
