New playground in Rostock: Children can go on a space” adventure!
Yesterday, November 10, 2025, the playground on Hans-Sachs-Allee in Rostock was re-inaugurated with fresh play equipment. After 25 years, it was high time for a renewal because the old wooden devices from 2000 had suffered some damage. Despite various repairs, some of the add-on parts ultimately had to be removed. The comprehensive renovation, which was completed at the end of September, cost around 97,000 euros, much to the delight of the little adventurers and their parents.
What’s special about this renewal? The new devices come in the trendy “space” design, a wish that was expressed directly by the children. The members of the children's community at the Rostock Leisure Center (RFZ) were actively involved in the preliminary planning and were closely involved in the selection of the equipment. Together with the Office for Urban Greenery, Nature Conservation and Cemetery Management, the best concept was selected from three design suggestions.
The new playground in detail
The new play equipment comes from the manufacturer HAGS and offers a diverse selection of climbing, balancing and sliding elements that promote movement and dexterity. Especially for younger children, a separate, smaller game combination was designed that combines safety and fun.

The play sand was also replaced so that everything is now ready for unforgettable outdoor adventures.
New games for the mind
But it's not just the playground that has received an update - there's also a lot happening in the world of word games. The popular game “Wordplay” produced by G5 Entertainment keeps your brain sharp with a combination of word searches, crossword puzzles and vocabulary puzzles. Players can look forward to numerous levels that offer creative word unscrambling puzzles. Tips are available, and there are even daily challenges with prizes to be won. One of the best things? There are no time limits or penalties for wrong answers, making for a relaxed gaming experience. And for everyone who speaks several languages, “Wordplay” is also available in German and many other languages!
