football fans in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania can look back on an exciting season in the association league. On June 15, 2025, the season ended and there were some surprising twists. With a strong performance, SV Siedenbollenin not only secured the championship, but also the promotion to the Oberliga. In 30 games they got an impressive 68 points through 21 wins, 5 draws and only 4 defeats, which catapulted them to the top of the table. NDR scored while they only had to accept 34 goals. An impressive goal difference!
In the shade of this masterpiece, SV Warnemünde, who had to take a bitter defeat with 1: 6 in the last local derby against SV Pastow. This means that SV Warnemünde is in the last place in the table and should normally have relegated, but the current regulation states that no teams from the state leagues east and west rise. So the SV Warnemünde remains in the association league, even if they could only collect 18 points in 30 games. The first half of the season was a challenge where the teams were difficult to drive at the end of the table.
The best teams in the league
In the end table, the teams were also able to look forward to some individual awards. The top scorer of the season became Fatlind Memaj from SpVgg Torgelow-Ueckermünde, which made the most stalls with 29 goals. In the following places we find Lukas Möller from SV Siedenbollentin with 23 goals as well as Dennis Kühl and Tony-Glen Siegmund, both of whom have scored 20 goals each. The exciting competition for the trophies made the league very lively. A total of 950 goals were scored for the entire season, which means an average of 3.96 goals per game!
As for the viewers collected, a total of 31,048 fans came to the stadiums, which makes up an average of 129 per game. These are very passable numbers for a league that plays at the sixth highest German level. So our region has a lot of football enthusiasm that could continue to grow next season, especially with eight out of 16 association league teams that will come from the Rostock region.

Overall, we can look forward to the next season. It remains to be seen whether SV Warnemünde will find out of its misery and whether the SV Siedenbollenin can exist in the Oberliga.
