The drunken couple, consisting of a 47-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, not only left their handbag behind after the incident, but were now also faced with serious legal consequences. Both have to answer for causing public nuisance and grossly offensive behavior. This type of act falls under Section 183a of the German Criminal Code (StGB), which criminalizes sexual acts in public that are visible to bystanders and constitute a nuisance.
Causing public nuisance – a legal risk
