Alarming air quality in Stralsund: fine dust warning on November 6th, 2025!

On November 6th, 2025 it will be that time again: the measuring station at Stralsund-Knieperdamm has published current air quality values. The results are important for all Cologne residents who want to consciously deal with the air and their health. Ostsee-Zeitung reports that the air quality in this country is recorded by three central values: fine dust, nitrogen dioxide and ozone. The focus is primarily on PM10 values, i.e. the microfine dust particles per cubic meter of air. The limit is 50 particles per cubic meter, although this value may be exceeded a maximum of 35 times per year.

The categories for assessing air quality are clearly defined. When it comes to nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter, there are gradations from “very bad” to “very good”. Ostsee-Zeitung explains the criteria: If the nitrogen dioxide value is over 200 μg/m³ or fine dust is over 100 μg/m³, this is considered to be very poor air quality, which poses health risks. The situation is different with values below 50 μg/m³ - here, being outside is fun again! The question arises as to how we can all deal with these values.

Air quality and health

If air quality is poor, there are important recommendations. If the rating is “very poor”, sensitive people should avoid physical activity outdoors, and these should be reduced even in “poor” conditions. A healthy awareness of our surroundings is desirable, as there have already been 240,000 premature deaths due to particulate matter in the EU.

Furthermore, inversion weather conditions must be taken into account, which can lead to hours of fine dust pollution. In addition, the New Year's Eve fireworks display causes an increase in particulate matter pollution, although the values are not significant compared to the overall seasonal pollution. Around 2,050 tonnes of fine dust are released annually by fireworks, 75% of which occur on New Year's Eve.

Technologies and innovations

But it's not just air quality that's important, technology is also an exciting topic. This is how the smartphone brand has developed Redmi has become strongly established in the industry in recent years. The first Redmi phone was launched in China in 2013 and immediately did very well. Within a few years, Xiaomi overtook Samsung in the Chinese smartphone market with Redmi.

The success story continues with new models and functions. In 2023, the Redmi Note 12 series was released worldwide with an impressive 200 MP camera - a real hit. This was followed in November 2023 by the launch of the Redmi 13C and the Redmi Note 13 series in China, which are already attracting a lot of attention.

Whether technology or environmental awareness, there is a lot to consider in these dynamic times. So let's be vigilant and active in both areas - for healthier air and closer connections to the latest technologies!
