Energie Cottbus is defeated again: 0:3 against Schwerin II in the home game!

Last Sunday afternoon, the women of SV Energie Cottbus competed in an exciting double game day, but suffered another bitter defeat. There was a clear 0:3 against the Schweriner SC second team, which dampened the mood among the fans who had flocked into the hall in large numbers. With an audience of around 150 spectators, the game started promptly at 4 p.m. and ended after just 59 minutes of play.

In the first set, Schwerin impressively showed why they belonged on the field and took a clear lead 25:15. Cottbus also kept up well in the second set, but did not manage to win the set and had to lose 18:25. In the third round, the superiority of the guests from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania became even clearer when the game ended at 11:25. Despite the defeats, Meret Lange from SV Energie Cottbus shone with a strong performance and was named Most Valuable Player (MVP), while her opponent Emma Schluszas from Schwerin was also honored.

Another disappointing weekend

For SV Energie Cottbus it was the second defeat within 24 hours. They had previously lost against VCO Münster on Saturday with the same result of 0:3. These two defeats leave the club at the bottom of the 2nd Bundesliga North table. A depressing feeling for the team and the fans who are hoping for better results.

The players now have to get back on their feet quickly because the next league game is already around the corner. On November 15th, 2025 they will face Osnabrück, bottom of the table, followed by another home game against SC Potsdam II on November 23rd, 2025.
