MV Festival: Music marathon and bicycle concert in Schwerin!

This weekend in Schwerin it's all about music and joy. The MV Festival celebrates its birthday at the E-Werk and offers a varied program on both days that attracts both music lovers and families in the region. Today, July 15, 2025, the festival starts with a colorful mix of choral singing, chamber music and rousing jazz. The event opened its doors on Saturday at 12 p.m. and offers something for every taste.

On Saturday, the ffortissibros, a men's chamber choir that was only founded in 2019, will present the start at 12 p.m. Followed by chamber music from the Rostock University of Music and Theater at 2 p.m., visitors can look forward to brass music and puppet shows with the Blechlotsen and Friederike Alphei at 4 p.m. At 6 p.m., ensembles from the Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater Schwerin will show off their skills, and the unplugged early jazz band “Die Railers” will conclude Saturday at 8 p.m. The ticket prices for this day are 10 euros for single tickets and 35 euros for a day ticket, plus fees.

A musical adventure on Sunday

Sunday invites you to a very special experience: the bicycle concert. This creative idea takes participants on a musical bike tour in and around Schwerin, where they can visit a total of 12 different stations. The tour starts flexibly from 11 a.m. and the program extends until around 3:30 p.m., so that everyone has the opportunity to cycle depending on their mood.

The top-class artists performing at the bicycle concert include the Fuse Ensemble, the Astoria Salon Orchestra and the Hanse Jazz Quintet. The different stages offer a diverse program ranging from classical music to jazz to family-friendly performances. Here is a small overview of the stations and artists:

Ticket prices for this exciting Sunday event are 30 euros for adults and 10 euros for children between 4 and 18 years old. Each additional child only pays 5 euros (plus fees). Tickets can be purchased conveniently online, at Schlachtermarkt and from 10:30 a.m. at the respective stages.
