High football spirit in Schwerin: WEMAG honors the junior champions!

After an exciting end to the season, the best young footballers in the WEMAG leagues celebrated their successes in Schwerin on June 26, 2025. WEMAG AG and LFV Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania invited to the championship ceremony, where seven clubs were honored for their achievements. Not only were the season winners for age groups A to D honored, but also the winners of the Fair Play Cup and the most accurate players in the leagues. Among the numerous honors was the A-Junior top scorer Lukas Marschall from MSV Pampow, who made a real statement with 36 goals.

Overall, the club representatives met in a relaxed atmosphere to review the successes of the season. Sebastian Turowski, managing director of the LFV, emphasized the importance of promoting young talent in football in his speech. The focus was also placed on the volunteers who put in a lot of work and passion. The event was professionally moderated by NDR reporter Jan Didjurgeit, who led the evening and included additional highlights. The champion teams were able to look forward to winning trophies, medals and even 25 Adidas backpacks.

Honoring the best performing teams

The winners of the relays are:

  • A-Junioren: SG Aufbau Boizenburg
  • B-Junioren: Lübzer SV
  • C-Junioren: Hagenower SV
  • D-Junioren: Neumühler SV

The Fair Play Cup winners are as follows:

  • A-Junioren: SV Plate
  • B-Junioren: SV Plate
  • C-Junioren: Schweriner SC
  • D-Junioren: SG StraWaZa

WEMAG AG, which has been in partnership with the LFV since 2009, signed a new contract with a term of three years, which further consolidates the commitment to young footballers in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The aim is to promote enthusiasm for football not only among boys, but also among girls. WEMAG is also committed to training young volunteers and specifically supports girls' football.

Perspective teams for girls' soccer

Another step in the right direction is the support of the perspective teams by WEMAG, which has already been able to set up the first structures for young female footballers. This initiative aims to help increase interest in football among young girls and provide them with places to pursue the sport. The team from Zarrentin, which acts as the twelfth location of the perspective teams, received new jerseys, which were handed over as part of an indoor tournament. These measures demonstrate the desire to further expand the girls' football network in the region.

The “Day of Girls’ Football”, initiated by the German Football Association (DFB), is also supported. This day of action is intended to attract new players and support clubs in creating an attractive environment for girls' football. The content of such events ranges from special training units to new forms of play.

The #NotWithoutMyMädels campaign aims to strengthen the team spirit in girls' football and promote passion for the sport. These projects are essential for the future of women's and girls' football in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

These committed activities make it clear that both WEMAG and the LFV are working seriously to support future generations of footballers and to offer them the best conditions for a successful sporting career.
