Mega power lines: Information market in Dümmer on November 3rd!
Next week, 50Hertz and Wemag Netz GmbH will be inviting you to an important information event about the planned network connection point in Mühlenbeck. On Monday, November 3rd, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., anyone interested will have the opportunity to find out more in the youth forest home at Hauptstrasse 60. There will be several topic stands here covering technical details, substations, converters, power lines and approval procedures. The event is intended as a platform to answer questions and create a better understanding of the new infrastructure.
As nordkurier.de reports, the network connection point is a central node for the power supply and will be equipped with three converters and a substation. This infrastructure will play a crucial role in efficiently feeding renewable energy into the existing power grid. The goal is clear: to secure the regional electricity supply in the long term through the efficient absorption and distribution of the electricity generated.
The importance of network connectivity
But why are network connection points so crucial? According to bee-ev.de, these points are the backbone of electricity transmission as they connect electricity producers, various power grids and consumers. Without them, it would be difficult for operators of renewable energy systems to be able to economically feed the electricity they produce into the grid. However, there are currently challenges: Long delivery times for the necessary substations and transformers could delay network expansion. In reality, the nearest available grid connection point may be more than 10 kilometers away, affecting the time and cost of implementing new generation facilities.
The planned event will also attract experts from 50Hertz and Wemag Netz GmbH, who will provide valuable insights into the progress of the projects. The physical well-being of the visitors is also taken care of, so that you can end the evening with interesting conversations and perhaps a snack or two.
Research and Development
Another interesting point is that Fraunhofer IEE is working on a web application to support the planning of network connection points. This application provides a Germany-wide 6 × 6 km grid that helps evaluate the combinations of wind and photovoltaic power. With the help of these simulations, the aim is to optimize the use of network connection points and thus show an efficient path to the energy transition. This information comes from the Fraunhofer IEE study.
By using historical weather data such as wind speed and solar radiation, users of the application can simulate projects and develop the best strategies for feeding in renewable energy. Given the global challenges in the area of energy supply, such projects and events are of great importance.
So if you are interested in learning more about the future of electricity in our region, don't miss the opportunity on November 3rd!
