Schwerin's gourmet garden: feasting, music and fun for the whole family!

When summer arrives in Schwerin, the castle garden becomes a culinary experience. It opens next weekend, from July 18th to 20th, 2025 Schwerin gourmet garden its gates. Under the motto “This is how MV tastes,” regional chefs, winemakers and manufacturers present their specialties in one of the most beautiful garden restaurants in the region. Entry to this gourmet event is free and promises a feast for the senses.

The official opening takes place on Friday at 4:00 p.m. At 5:00 p.m. the musical program begins with the bagpipe player Kian Johnsten, followed by a whiskey tasting with Steffen Brinkmann. The mayor will open the event at 6 p.m., followed by a live performance by jazz musician Andreas Pasternack from 7 p.m. Visitors can also look forward to the “Südstrand-Combo”, which will provide a musical atmosphere on Saturday.

Diverse program in the castle garden

The gourmet garden doesn't just offer delicious food. On Saturday, July 19th, there will be a beer and steak tasting at 11:00 a.m. Luis Dannevitz and Kian Johnsten provide musical entertainment at different times of the day. Special highlights are also the many stands where delicacies from “Gourmetfabrik”, “ars vivendi” and other regional suppliers are available for consumption.

Sunday begins with a musical morning pint at 11:30 a.m. Afterwards there will be a cooking show by Stadtwerke Schwerin - a culinary festival that demonstrates how diverse and tasty regional products can be. The highlight of Sunday is the live performance by the Schwerin men's choir “Die Terzbuben”.

Leisure opportunities and much more

But the weekend has even more to offer: On Friday, the tribute band “Barock” will take off at Club Zenit at 7 p.m. and present themselves as one of the best AC/DC interpretations in Europe with a brilliant pyro show. At the same time, music lovers can enjoy the sounds of “Tales from the Rails” in the conservatory, which features chanson, folk and world music.

For families there is the “RosaHerz Kids Tower Festival” on Saturday with a colorful program that includes creative stations, a barefoot path and a workshop with influencer Pascal “Qualle” Martin. The television tower becomes a stage for fun and games and offers a great atmosphere with live music and a late night flea market until the evening.

The Kalkwerder outdoor pool also invites you to the summer festival on Saturday, where visitors can look forward to an entertaining program with a tombola, bouncy castle and beach volleyball - and all with free entry!
