Accident tragedy in Schwerin: tram crashes in vans!

On Thursday, June 19, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred around 9.15 a.m. in the intersection of the Mayor-Bade-Platz in Schwerin. According to Nordkurier , a total of three cars and a tram on line 2 were involved in the accident. The 51-year-old driver of a Mercedes transporter disregarded a red traffic light, which had fatal consequences. In the accident, the tram, directed by a 36-year-old driver, crossed the way of the van at the same time.

The tram collided with full force against the rear of the van, which was then thrown against the car of an 82-year-old. Not enough, the van then collided with the vehicle of a 45-year-old man. Fortunately, everyone involved could get away with minor injuries, apart from the 45-year-old, who had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
