Extensive renovation work will be carried out in the state capital Schwerin from next Monday, October 13th. The affected area is the sidewalk on Am Friedensberg Street, where construction work is expected to last until November 21st. During this time, half of the road will be closed, which will have a significant impact on traffic flow. To regulate the situation, a mobile traffic light is used to control traffic. In addition, the parking lot at the clinic will remain closed during this time, which could pose an additional challenge for residents and patients. Nordkurier reports that the city of Schwerin is taking comprehensive measures to minimize inconvenience for road users.
It's not just the Am Friedensberg street that will be affected: from Thursday, October 16th, there will also be a changed traffic route on Ludwigsluster Chaussee. The road leading into the city will be closed until December 18th. Traffic will be diverted to one lane on the opposite lane heading out of town. Important information for all road users: The entrance and exit to Hagenower Straße will not be able to be used during construction work, but a shortened turning lane towards Graf-Schack-Allee is available. These changes could significantly impact the traffic situation in the area and should be taken into account by all drivers.
An autumn festival with challenges
On Sunday, October 19th, Schwerin residents can expect an additional event: Due to the autumn festival, Schleifmühlenweg will be completely closed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. This closure applies between Lennéstrasse and the end of the Schleifmühle. Road users are urged to avoid the area as far as possible to avoid traffic jams and accidents. It is advisable to find out about alternative routes in advance to avoid any inconveniences.
