Seven sports clubs in the fight against violence: award in MV!
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Deutschland - On July 15, 2025, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania celebrated an important day for sport. For the fifth time, the sports clubs in the country have been awarded for their outstanding achievements in the field of violence prevention and integration. The special prize "Sport instead of violence" is awarded by the State Council for Crime Prevention and the State Sports Association and aims to honor the commitment of clubs that goes beyond the sporting framework. State Secretary Wolfgang Schmülling, who accompanied the award, emphasized the decisive role of the sports clubs as integration factors for the youth. Especially in times when many adolescents come for different cultural backgrounds, the sports offers show a violence -preventive effect and contribute to social integration. The following seven clubs from 16 applications were awarded:- Handball sports club island Usedom/Seebad Ahlbeck e. From : The largest sports club in the region is particularly committed to youth and prevention work and promotes German-Polish understanding.
- HSG Uni Rostock e. From : With over 75 years of engagement, the university sports group receives the award for its youth protection concept, which especially protects children and adolescents from sexual violence.
- TSV Friedland 1814 e.V. : The oldest sports club in Germany acts actively against violence and cooperates closely with schools and kindergartens.
- FC Pio Torgelow e.v. : Here the integration of players from various origins and a successful project for youth counseling are in the foreground, which was recorded in a award -winning documentation.
- SV "Rot-Weiß" Penkun e.v. : focuses on young people, the association promotes fairness, respect and international cooperation, including football tournaments with Polish and Ukrainian young people.
- fanatic d! Ance e.v. : This dance club collects donations to support child protection projects and conveys values such as teamwork and tolerance
- martial art association Jion e. V. : The association offers an important contribution to non -violent conflict resolution through continuous prevention projects.
sport as an integration factor
The prices are not only recognition for the excellent work of these clubs, but also a symbol of the important role that sport plays in intercultural processes.
