Sad twists in the Fabian murder case: ZDF program is looking for clues!
The case of the tragically deceased eight-year-old Fabian from Güstrow concerns the public and is being discussed today in the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY ... unsolved”. The program, which aims to solve crimes, will present new findings in the case of the little boy, whose body was discovered about three weeks ago in a pond in nearby Klein Upahl. Fabian disappeared on October 10th after feeling unwell that day and deciding not to go to school. The police have been investigating at high speed ever since.
After the boy's body was found, investigators were able to confirm that it was dumped at the location on the same day of the disappearance and then set on fire. The time period for these horrific acts is believed to be between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. What is particularly pressing for the investigation is that, according to public prosecutor Harald Nowack, a sexual offense can be ruled out. This is a small ray of hope amidst the dismaying circumstances.
The investigation is in full swing
The investigators have been active for three weeks. Numerous witnesses were interviewed, various properties were combed and traces were secured. A big mystery remains: So far, no information about possible suspects has been published in order not to jeopardize the investigation. The police are hoping for information from the public, which can be forwarded to the Rostock police headquarters or via the studio tip line during the broadcast.
In order to pay a final respect to the bereaved, a memorial service for Fabian was held in Güstrow, attended by hundreds of people. The pain and grief of the community is palpable - such a tragedy leaves no one untouched.

Given the seriousness of the crime, it is more than understandable that the case is attracting great attention throughout Germany. The ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY ... unsolved” has developed an excellent reputation for solving crimes over the past decades and could also provide crucial clues in this case.
