In an emotional rescue operation, the company's thermal imaging drone thermal drones the lost dog Sepp was found within just 30 seconds. On Monday evening, Dorothee Adenstedt and Günther Hoffmann's family dog ran away in Bugewitz, Vorpommern-Greifswald district, while hanging on a 15-meter-long drag line. In particular, the rescue of deer fawns during spring mowing has reached new dimensions. It is estimated that up to 20,000 fawns were saved using drones last season. This positive development is primarily due to the regulations issued in March 2024, which lifted previously applicable restrictions on the use of drones.
The new general decree creates a special geographical zone in which the minimum distance of drones from residential areas can be reduced to 10 meters, provided the drones fly lower. This opens up significantly more application options for operators, as they can now use over 90 percent more area to rescue wild animals.
