Trainees in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district receive support through vocational training grants to help them cope with financial burdens.

Financial help for trainees: This is how the employment agency in the district supports!
For many trainees, the financial situation during training can be a real challenge. This is particularly the case if they no longer live with their parents. The costs of rent, food, clothing, and transportation home add up quickly and put a significant strain on the budget. However, there is a ray of hope in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district: trainees can receive a subsidy from the employment agency to ease their financial burden. According to Nordkurier, around 3,750 trainees in the district are entitled to this support.
The vocational training allowance (BAB) measure ensures that the training allowance is often not enough to cover all living costs. Wolfgang Ehlert, chairman of IG BAU Ostmecklenburg-Western Pomerania, emphasizes that the high rents further increase the financial burden on trainees. It is therefore important to meet the requirements for the BAB in order to benefit from the support.
Requirements for the BAB
In order to apply for vocational training allowance, a number of criteria must be met. The trainee must either be over 18 years old, married or live with a partner. It is also a prerequisite that he or she no longer lives with their parents or has at least one child. The aforementioned website Arbeitsagentur also offers an online calculator that helps you check your chances of receiving support.
But the BAB is not the only way to get help. The cost of living has risen in recent years and the training allowance is often not enough to live on. Therefore, other state aid such as student BAföG, housing benefit and scholarships are available. It is particularly worth mentioning that the maximum rate of the BAB for dual trainees who no longer live with their parents is 781 euros, while students who also no longer live at home can receive up to 959 euros, as Ausbildung.de reports.
Help and support for trainees
If you would like to apply for support, there are various contact points. Under certain conditions, housing benefit can also be applied for if the BAB application has been rejected. In addition, trainees can receive monthly education loans of up to 7,200 euros, which are repaid after a four-year repayment period. Parents are also obliged to support their children financially during their initial training. Depending on the parents' income, maintenance can be between 690 and 1,380 euros per month.
Pregnant trainees should know that they are entitled to maternity benefit during their maternity leave. And if a little more money is still needed, part-time jobs can be an option, although the income must be reported correctly as it can influence government subsidies.
The aim of the support offered is clear: trainees should be able to stand on their own feet not only professionally but also financially during their training. It is therefore important to use the existing options and take care of the necessary applications in good time.
