Greifswald receives 44 million euros for a modern education center!

In Greifswald something is happening in the field of education! The district of Vorpommern-Greifswald plans to build a new regional vocational education center (RBB), which is due to combine the previous locations on Hans-Beimler-Straße and Siemensallee. A step that not only improves the training infrastructure, but also decisively optimized the framework conditions for teachers and learners.

The official notice of grant over 44.3 million euros was recently by Dr. Wolfgang Blank, the Minister of Economics, Infrastructure, Tourism and Work. "This is an important building block for the future of our region," said Blank. District Administrator Michael Sack (CDU) supported the initiative and reported on the planned total costs of around 55.4 million euros, of which the country pays around 80%. The financing is carried out by means of the expansion of business -related infrastructure and from the European Fund for Regional Development (ERDRE).

The new educational center will offer space for up to 1,800 students and 100 teachers. This pursues the goal of creating a modern learning environment that meets the requirements of the labor market. A look into the future

The start of construction for the education center is scheduled for autumn 2025, with a completion by 2028. The aim is not only to promote the quality of life in the region, but also to actively help shape young talent training. The educational institution will offer a wide range of training courses, from dual educational tours to vocational preparation to specialist high schools that are based on the needs of the local labor market.
