Cultural highlight: Poland market in Greifswald starts on November 6th!

It will soon be colorful again in Greifswald! The popular “Poland Market”, which was launched in 1997 as a small cultural evening, opens on November 6th with a full program celebrating Poland’s cultural diversity. Originally founded with the aim of presenting Polish traditions, the festival has developed over the years into a significant platform for Polish culture. A total of ten days of events are planned in the coming weeks until November 29th, ranging from art and music to literature and history.

The start of this year's festival will take place in the “Hans Fallada” city library, where author Matthias Kneip will read from his children's book “Dachshund in Warsaw” at 8:30 a.m. The official opening at the Alfried Krupp Science College will take place on November 13th, including the awarding of the Sparkasse Prize and a reading by Konrad Boguslaw Bach, musically accompanied by the talented Hania Nafali. Admission to these events is free – a welcome opportunity for anyone who wants to experience culture up close.

Diverse events

The festival has something for every taste. In addition to readings, which take place on November 6th, 7th and 20th, there are also numerous concerts. Particularly worth mentioning is the opening concert with Hania Nafali on November 14th in the Genussmanufaktur, which is also free. On November 22nd, the band “Queen Anne’s Revenge” will perform with Celtic Folk and Sea Shantys at St. Spiritus – a treat for lovers of traditional sounds. The closing party is the finale on November 29th, to which interested parties are invited with a ticket for 16 euros, reduced price 12 euros. If you just want to come to the party, you can purchase a separate ticket for 10 euros, reduced 8 euros.

The venues are also a highlight: In addition to the city library and the Alfried Krupp Science College, the Pomeranian State Museum, the university and other locations in Löcknitz and Ueckermünde will be enlivened. A cultural meeting point

The Polish Culture Days in Greifswald are not only a celebration of diversity, but also an opportunity to experience exciting encounters and engage with Polish culture. A reading by Beatrix Flatt on her book “Border Space: Encounters on the Oder and Neisse” will be another highlight during the festival on November 20th. With free entry to all readings, the Culture Days are well on their way to becoming a popular meeting place for those interested and culture lovers.

Aside from the festival, Greifswald has a rich cultural offering and many events to discover. Whether it's music, literature or art, there's always something going on in the city. Take this opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Polish culture!
