Devastating accident on the B 111: Four injured after a collision!
on Saturday, July 12, 2025, an unfortunate rear -end collision occurred on the B 111 near Pudagla, Usedom, which significantly impaired traffic. A 27-year-old driver reacted too late to the sudden braking of a 43-year-old woman who was traveling in her vehicle. This unfortunate incident, which happened around 1:30 p.m., led to a collision of three vehicles and high property damage of around 20,000 euros, such as [Ostsee-Zeitung] (https://www.ostsee-zeitung.de/lokales/vorpommern-greifswald/usedom/vollsperrung-auf-der-b-11 1-on-usedom-upfection accident-traffic-pudagla-lahm-jqjmd64ndveitf4vtbxgad4l7y.html? The woman concerned had to brake sharply, which led to her car pushed onto another vehicle in which a 60-year-old driver, a 66-year-old passenger and a 35-year-old woman were with her nine-month-old child. Fortunately, all four people were taken to the hospital as a precaution to ensure that no serious injuries were presented. During the first examination by the rescue workers, there were no serious injuries, but two ambulances, an emergency doctor and the Pudagla volunteer fire brigade were used.
further traffic accidents on Usedom
The traffic accident statistics have shown various trends in recent years. In 2024 there were around 2.5 million road traffic accidents in Germany, in which the number of accidents with property damage rose, but that of the personal injury remained at a stable level, as [Statista] (https://de.statista.com/themen/34/verkehrs accident/). The most common causes of such accidents are insufficient distance, non -adapted speed and driving under the influence of alcohol. In order to achieve the vision zero - i.e. no traffic fattening until 2050 -, better infrastructure expansion and increased attention from road users are essential.
The current traffic situation in and around Usedom remains tense, and the authorities appeal to all road users to drive responsibly. The recent incidents clearly show that it is important to keep control of the vehicle at any time and to take other road users into account.
