Western Pomerania's golf tuner with 1000 HP: MontanaBlack inspires!
What a bullet! René Donner from Western Pomerania is currently causing a sensation in the tuning scene with his breathtakingly tuned Golf 3. With an output of a whopping 1000 hp, he accelerates to a brisk 250 km/h in less than ten seconds and has not only impressed those around him, but also the popular streamer MontanaBlack (Marcel Eris). After racing with the internet star, he was able to increase his number of followers on social networks by over 1,000. A real hype that causes a stir!
Donner, who originally found his professional roots as a bricklayer, discovered his passion for cars during his community service. He invested over 100,000 euros in his Golf and also developed his solid craft. He had already won numerous trophies at tuning meetings with a converted Škoda Superb. He is now planning to take part in a race day in Anklam in October, which should make for some exciting racing.
The special Martini Golf
Donner's Golf is no ordinary vehicle. Equipped with a parachute to reduce speed and safety precautions such as a fire extinguisher and roll cage, it is well equipped for fast laps on the track. His Martini Golf, as he affectionately calls it, stands out thanks to its unusual design and technology. The Drag Race scene fascinated him many years ago, and now he is an integral part of it.
The enthusiasm for tuning that he shares with many others is also reflected in current data. According to a study by BBE Automotive from December 2023, tuning is a real trend in Germany. The average tuner driver is male, in his mid-thirties and often has several vehicles in his garage. Surprisingly, only 10% of these vehicles are less than two years old - most are used and often older than three years. Tuning serves many people as an expression of their personality, and electric vehicles are now increasingly finding their way into the tuning scene.
A growing industry
Tuning is more than just fun. The industry generates around 4 billion euros in sales with performance models in Germany. The retrofit business also generates annual sales of around 2 billion euros. In total, around 10,000 people work in the tuning industry and around 1,000 workshops are in business. Many of them specialize in tuning and offer an attractive working environment for technology- and online-savvy employees. For this reason, the number of younger tuning drivers who are also heavily networked online has increased in recent years.
While around a third of tuning fans now associate the hobby with the idea of posers or speeders, the reality is probably much more differentiated. Many tuning enthusiasts clearly differentiate themselves from this fringe group, and so the community continues to grow. René Donner's success story also shows that the passion for cars and tuning offers many opportunities to express oneself creatively and technically - and often in an impressive way.
