Finnish Dreifaster Anny inspires Stralsund with blue cheese!

Stralsund, Deutschland - In beautiful Stralsund, the Finnish Dreifmast-Schaoner Anny von Hamburg has determined today. The stately ship, which is located on the stone fish bridge until Friday, attracts numerous visitors who take the opportunity to admire the impressive boat from the outside. On Thursday, sailing enthusiasts and curious people from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. have the wonderful opportunity to explore the inside of the ship during an open ship. Captain Juha Pokka has announced a very special delicacy for the guests: Finnish blueberry cakes!

The Anny von Hamburg has an eventful story that goes back over 110 years. Originally built in 1914 on the Unterweser as a freight sailor, the ship completed its maiden voyage to St. Petersburg. But soon the outbreak of the First World War came and led to the confiscation of the ship. During the following decades, the Anny experienced several takeovers and conversions. She finally hiked through various hands to Scandinavia, where she transported cement from Bremen to Helgoland under changing names. In 1957 it was bought by a Swedish company and renamed "Ringö" .

The long way led the ship through many changes. In 1981 it returned to Hamburg, was restored faithfully and converted into a comfortable cruise variant. Since 1987, the Anny of Hamburg sailed under Antigua flag and has been sighted not only in the Aegean Sea and in the Mediterranean, but also in the Caribbean. In summer it is also active as a sail training ship from Kiel and takes part in events such as the Kiel Week and the Hanse Sail in Rostock.

The last major renovation took place in Wilhelmshaven from 1997 to 1998. Taste and optically refreshed, the ship was owned by Thien & Heyenga until 2004 and was carried out by the association "Friends of the DreiMastschoner Anny von Hamburg e.V." supports. Since the spring of 2004, the anny has been operated by the Hanse-Kogkewerft and in 2022 gave a return to Finland to the Nordic Expedition Sailing Society Oy, whose new home port Ekenäs is.
